Like similar romantic comedies she finds herself in a different world and suddenly men are paying attention to her. Everything seems a little brighter, the city looks a little cleaner and more inviting and when she returns home a startled Natalie calls 911 to report that someone has broken into her apartment, stolen her stuff and replaced it with better stuff and she has one of every shoe you could imagine.
The disgruntled 911 operator hangs up on her. She soon realizes she is stuck in a romantic comedy and must find a way to get out of it and back to real life. Read more: Rebel Wilson Reveals Character Isn’t Romantic Wears Clothes Fashion Line | Daily Mail and Isn’t It Romantic Trailer | Glamour
Rebel Wilson was born in Sydney Australia in 1980 and studied acting and theater after graduating high school. She appeared in several Australian television shows and earned awards. After deciding upon a career in movies in 2003, she relocated to New York on an International scholarship and studied with The Second City, an improvisational comedy group.
Rebel Wilson is not only an actress and comedienne, but she is also a writer and producer. Besides her portrayal of Pitch Perfect’s Fat Amy and Brynn from Bridesmaids’, the actress has appeared in 23 films, 16 television productions, 4 theater productions, and voiced a character in a video game. She has also been nominated for MTV Movie Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and People’s Choice Awards for her work in television.
Isn’t it Romantic is based on a familiar theme in movies, but with a comedic twist supplied by Rebel Wilson. Natalie was told by her mother as a child that movies like Pretty Woman were fantasies and only applied to girls who looked like Julia Roberts.
This harsh reality has clouded her perception of love and gives her character the basis of looking at the glass half empty all the time. She will have to come to terms with this belief and find a way to fall in love if she is to break the cycle and return to her life. The theme is similar to the movie Groundhog Day, where the day keeps repeating until you get it right.
