At the Helm of Fortress Investment Group
Wes Edens together with four others formed the Fortress Investment Group in the year 1998. Wes Edens was part of the Management Committee a position he has held up to date. He became the co-Chairman of the board of directors in the year 2009.
Wes Edens was behind the pushing of Fortress Investment Group to a public IPO in the year 2007 at the New York Stock Exchange market. By then the firm owned private equity funds, had a tune of four hedge funds and a share of real estate. This was the first time for a privately owned entity to be going public. By the year 2009, the company had sold more than 8% of its shares to the public reaping big.
As Alternative asset manager, Wes Edens led the company to sell to a Japanese Investment firm, Nomura some minority shares. The transaction made them earn to a tune of $ 100 as payout. His business acumen is through creative financing through building business from investment. For example, he was also behind American General Finance acquisition which saw the firm gain twenty seven times their original investment.
Career Track Down
Mr. Wes Edens attended the Oregon University where he graduated with a degree in business administration and finance. He joined the business world in the year 1987 under a firm known as Lehman Brothers. In his time at the firm he was made a partner and also a managing director. After six years growth, he joined the BlackRock Asset Investors for a couple of years in the same positions as his former firm.
Besides the business face, he is also a fanatic of sport and he owns Milwaukee Bucks that plays in the NBA. Fly quest, an esport organization for professional Americans are another are also some of his interests.
